Itinerary
- Early Morning Departure from Arequipa: The tour begins very early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa. We travel through the spectacular Andean highlands, passing volcanic landscapes, open plains, and grazing areas inhabited by vicuñas and alpacas. During the journey, the guide will share information about the geography, wildlife, and culture of the region.
- High-Altitude Viewpoints: Along the route, we make brief stops at panoramic viewpoints to observe the surrounding volcanoes and the vast landscapes of the Andes. These stops allow time to stretch, acclimatize, and take photographs.
- Arrival at Colca Valley: As we descend into the Colca Valley, the scenery changes to green agricultural terraces that have been cultivated since pre-Inca times. These terraces are still used today by local communities and are a testament to ancient Andean farming techniques.
- Cruz del Cóndor: We arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, one of the best places in the world to observe the Andean condor. From this viewpoint, you can appreciate the depth of Colca Canyon while watching condors soar gracefully on the rising thermal currents. Time is allocated to enjoy this unforgettable natural spectacle.
- Visit to Traditional Villages: After the condor viewpoint, we visit traditional villages such as Maca or Yanque, where you can observe colonial churches, local markets, and daily life in the Colca Valley. These stops offer insight into the traditions and customs of the local population.
