Itinerary
- Departure from Your Hotel: The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa. We start our journey through the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, characterized by elegant colonial buildings constructed from white volcanic stone.
- Plaza de Armas and Cathedral: Our first stop is the Plaza de Armas, the heart of the city and one of the most beautiful main squares in Peru. Surrounded by arches and palm trees, the square offers stunning views of the Arequipa Cathedral, which stands as a symbol of the city’s colonial heritage. The guide will explain the historical importance of this area while you enjoy the architecture and atmosphere.
- Santa Catalina Monastery: We continue to the Santa Catalina Monastery, one of Arequipa’s most important attractions. This vast religious complex, often described as a city within a city, features narrow streets, colorful walls, cloisters, and courtyards. During the guided visit, you will learn about the daily life of the nuns and the history of the monastery, which dates back to the 16th century.
- Yanahuara Viewpoint: Next, we visit the Yanahuara Viewpoint, famous for its stone arches engraved with poetic phrases. From this viewpoint, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the surrounding volcanoes, including Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.
